For the annual Dallas Opera Guild Vocal Competition, preliminary judges, comprised of opera professionals, have selected the semi-finalists from a blind listening of applicant CD recordings. Semi-finalists will compete on the stage of the Winspear with a repertoire of five arias starting at 11:30 am. Finalists will advance to the evening final competition at 7:30 pm. Finalists and prize winners will be determined by a panel of competition judges representing prestigious opera companies. The audience will select the People’s Choice Award winner by secret ballot.
