The Urban Race & Block Party is a fresh take on the traditional scavenger hunt where teams will conquer the diverse neighborhood that is Deep Ellum. Think The Amazing Race, but with a Deep Ellum feel. With challenges ranging from pop-culture trivia to local history, teams will decode clues, solve puzzles and follow breadcrumbs that will lead them around Deep Ellum and straight to the finish line.

Teams will work together on such tasks as painting murals, crafting instruments and solving brain bending riddles. Once teams have finished the race, they can head back to Life in Deep Ellum for a block party that’s open to the whole community. There will be live music, food trucks, beer from Deep Ellum Brewery, DJs and tournament style lawn games like ladder golf and cornhole. There will also be a silent auction, raffling off tons of cool stuff, and handing out awards for the race.
