2016 Grand Prairie Dragon Boat Festival

The Grand Prairie Dragon Boat Festival pits local and regional teams of 20 paddlers rowing traditional Chinese boats in a series of competitive heats on a 300 meter, fully-buoyed race course. Experienced racers as well as beginners are encouraged to join the fun. Novice racers are eligible for free instruction in the weeks before the race. (A minimum of eight female paddlers per team is required in order to be eligible to compete).

Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food vendors and music will keep the event lively for all throughout the day. Each team and volunteers will receive parking passes to utilize for practices and the day of the event. Passes limited to 4 per team.

An after party will take place at The Oasis on Joe Pool Lake. Tickets include dinner and live entertainment.

$10 per car for spectators. $15 each for after party.
