The Local Love Awards, hosted by Dede McGuire and Michael Shawn of K104’s Dede in the Morning, celebrates those individuals who have gone above and beyond in their respective fields to bring exceptional services, contributions, and art to Dallas-Fort Worth. The event recognizes individuals and minority businesses that are often the overlooked and forgotten infrastructures, that transform areas into viable communities and hold those communities together by serving and meeting the needs of the people who live there.

This year's nominees list includes defense attorney and Court TV anchor Yodit Tewolde for Legal Professional of the Year Award, For Oak Cliff for the Non Profit of the Year Award, and Emmy Award-Winning Theo Ponchavelli for the Best of the Arts Award. The 2019 celebrity award presenters include Grammy Award-winning artist Kirk Franklin, Senator Royce West, Celebrity blogger Kevin Curry, Grammy Award winning music producer J. White, and retired NFL Pro Bowl and All-Pro player Tommie Harris. The 10 year old sensational Skye Turner, recently featured on the Steve Harvey TV Show alongside Patti LaBelle, will be gracing the stage with an amazing vocal performance.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Local Love Awards go to 501c3 non-profit organization Project 16.
