The Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts will present the Lily Weiss Legacy Fund Concert will honor Weiss for her contributions to dance for almost 40 years.

In 1978, she joined the dance faculty at the high school, and for the last 13 years, she has provided exemplary leadership as dance coordinator for this prestigious school. Weiss has received national accolades and awards for her artistry in training young dancers, developing an innovative and effective dance curriculum and recruiting recognized master teachers/choreographers to work with BTWHSPVA dance students. Featured in the evening performance are Robert Battle’s The Hunt and Bridget L. Moore’s Portrait of a Woman.

The concert will take place in the Montgomery Arts Theater is located on the Booker T. Washington High School campus, on the corner of Flora and Jack Evans Streets.
