This year's State Fair of Texas will feature something completely new - the Chinese Lantern Festival. This is the first time the festival has made an appearance in this area, and it promises two unique experiences. Daytime visitors will be treated to a collection of Chinese art, including a football field-length dragon made from 15,000 porcelain dishes. At night, all of the exhibits will be lit from within, creating another treat for the eyes.
The festival will also include handmade souvenirs and live stage shows. Admission to the festival is separate from the State Fair of Texas admission.
