As part of the fun surrounding the College Football Playoff championship game on January 12, Fair Park will host the Extra Yard 5k. The race will include both the USATF Certified 5K and 100 Yard Kids Dash.

The overall male and overall female winner in the 5K will each win one pair of tickets to the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Runners will receive one entry into the drawing to win two tickets to the College Football Playoff National Championship, entry into the 40 Yard Dash competition, a commemorative race bib, a commemorative long-sleeve technical race shirt (5K only), superhero cape (100 yard kids dash only), Extra Yard 5k eye black, chip timing (5K only) and refreshments.
