Conduit Gallery will present a solo exhibition of work by Santa Fe-based artist, Ted Larsen. The exhibition will be sixth solo exhibition at Conduit Gallery for the artist.

Larsen’s studio practice eschews a single theme or didactic agenda. Throughout his sculptural practice, the works keep possession of a formality and elegance, while at the same time poking fun of modernist purity. Larsen creates abstract sculptures from salvaged materials, or ‘non-art materials,’ as he calls them, re-purposing ‘detritus’ in order to ‘re-contextualize’ its meaning.

There are three distinct compositions utilized in the exhibition: Window Boxes, Camshafts, and Secret Boxes. Each functions differently, but all are intended to illuminate consciousness within us. The Window
Boxes are essentially mirrors and allow for a place of reflection; The Camshafts are actuators of space and our relationship to it; The Secret Boxes contain unrevealed information.

The exhibition will be on display through November 28. The gallery is open by appointment only.
