Ripe with humor, scandal and small town gossip, a new kind of permanent wave is unfolding in Mama Alice’s beauty parlor – the setting for Mary Rohde Scuddy’s play Lady Bug, Lady Bug, Fly Away Home. Imprisoned by a marriage and a child she isn’t ready for, Margie Lynn Kayro Bunton (Kaitlin Moon-Jones) takes flight from the suffocating closeness of the small town of Polly, Texas, along with the likes of her controlling grandmother Mama Alice (played by noted director Cheryl Denson), her enabling mother (Cindee Mayfield Dobbs) and her baby and husband (John Ruegsegger) to become an expensive call girl in San Antonio. Unable to fully slam the screen door behind her, Margie Lynn sneaks back home late one night and the fireworks ignite.
