As We Lie Still is a musical that mediates reality & illusion, conscious & unconscious, life & death. Set in the early 1920s, this double-knotted love story is revealed through magician Avi Leiter’s quest for the one great illusion that will elevate his act.

As We Lie Still uses a spellbinding, contemporary score to tell a story of love and forgiveness, of life and death, of this world and the next. Composed by Patrick Emile (2014 Frederick Loewe Award Winner), it has been workshopped at Nouveau 47 in Dallas and at Western Kentucky University. It premiered Off-Broadway at the Pearl Theatre as an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.
