Crow Collection of Asian Art presents China Through The Lens of John Thompson 1868- 1872 opening weekend
|
The Crow Collection of Asian Art will present China Through The Lens of John Thompson 1868- 1872, a special exhibition of photography captured on glass plates over a five year period. Scottish photographer Thomson traveled throughout China, winning the confidence of people at a time when many feared having their picture taken at all. Thomson was able to get photos of people from all walks of life, from flower sellers and knife-grinders to brides and Mandarin bureaucrats.
The exhibit will be on display February 16 through May 5.
