The Dallas Architecture Forum will present “Modernism,” a symposium focused on the best of Mid-Century Modern architecture and design. Attendees will also learn about the Mid-Century Modern interior design styles featured in the popular Mad Men television show and in vanguard showroom and design projects.

The featured speaker, Leo Marmol, is one of the world’s leading authorities in the restoration of iconic Mid-Century Modern and International style residences, including the 1946 Kaufmann House by Richard Neutra in Palm Springs. Sidney Williams, Curator of the Palm Springs Art Museum, will discuss the homes of the movie stars found in Palm Springs and its design history.

After the conclusion of the Symposium there will be a Patron wine reception at a private residence originally designed by Howard Meyer, with renovations by Bodron + Fruit.  This residence is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of International Modernist design in Texas.

Admission for the Symposium is $35 for Forum and Nasher members, $45 general public. Admission for the Symposium and a Cocktail Reception at a private residence following the symposium is $85 for Forum and Nasher members and $95 for the general public.
