The Historians reading group meets monthly to discuss books from all areas of history. The event will cover political history, social history, military history and more, and gives attendees the chance to read and discuss history books recognized by historians as the best in their discipline.

Under the expert guidance of Dr. Donna McBride, who has taught history for almost 40 years at both the secondary and university levels, the Historians will be reading and discussing one book per month.

  • September 3: The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration, Isabel Wilkerson
  • October 8: The Wright Brothers, David McCullough
  • November 12: A Splendid Exchange: How Trade Shaped the World, William J. Bernstein
  • December 3: Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine, and the Murder of a President, Candice Millard.
