The Dance Council of North Texas will present the 2014 Dance Council Honors, coinciding with the inaugural Dallas DanceFest, August 29-31, 2014. The afternoon will begin with a reception followed by a program that includes performances by 2014 DCNT Scholarship recipients, professional dance companies, the awards presentation and a silent auction.
The date and venue aren’t the only changes attendees will notice this year. The DCNT will rename the Texas Tap Legend Award in honor of Buster Cooper, who passed away in March at the age of 90. A Dallas tap icon, Cooper will be honored with the final Texas Tap Legend award. Every year the DCNT selects five individuals whose passion and commitment to the dance community has greatly impacted the art form in North Texas.
