The Beauty and the Beast Play & Party is a fun, family, fundraising event that supports DCT's Sensory-Friendly Programming Initiative.

Guests are encouraged to don their finest Beauty or Beast costume and come be a part of a tale as old as time. DCT has plans to sweep them away to a fairy tale land of adventure filled with food, friends, and unforgettable fun. They’ll learn to dance the waltz just like royalty and discover the way to set a proper place setting just like Mrs. Potts and Chip would require. Of course, photo ops abound with all of the Disney characters in the beautiful enchanted castle. Guests can make their own commemorative stained glass window before the night is over and then join the DJ for an end-of-the-night dance party for the ages. As always, there will be lots of take-home goodies and a feast fit for royalty of all ages.

The party benefits DCT's sensory-friendly plays and classes that welcome and include children on the autism spectrum and others with developmental disabilities. Sensory-friendly performances feature a relaxed, accepting atmosphere with friendly, trained helpers; reduced sound; increased lighting in the seating area; and a custom lighting plan to reduce harsh stage lighting.
