Born and raised in Oak Cliff, Pedro Perez II has always had a love for the artistry and beauty of Mexican and Latino Culture. Along with dance and choreography, Perez has taken on the task of designing and making several of Alegre’s costumes. Perez has been recognized for his work and collection of regional outfits and has begun to exhibit and discuss them. Outside of Alegre he has worked with TeCo Theatrical Productions as a costume designer, stage manager, and actor.

Alegre Ballet Folklórico has been committed to bringing the culture and history of Mexico through dance and music using traditional and creative elements. It has grown from a small backyard past time to an award winning dance company that includes a vast record of performances in Oklahoma, Colorado, Hawaii, throughout the state of Texas, and some of which have gone as far as Zacatecas and Guanajuato, Mexico.

Alegre Ballet Folklórico will also be performing as Perez explains the dances and costumes.
