As part of Late Night: Celebrating Octavio Medellín, 2022 Texas Poet Laureate Lupe Mendez will lead a bilingual Spanish and English poetry workshop drawing inspiration from the DMA’s Medellín exhibition. Writer, educator, and activist Lupe Mendez is the author of the poetry collection Why I Am Like Tequila, winner of the 2019 John A. Robertson Award for Best First Book of Poetry from the Texas Institute of Letters.
