From the streets of Baltimore to the halls of the New Mexico Philharmonic, musician Richard Antoine White shares his remarkable story in I’m Possible: A Story of Survival, a Tuba, and the Small Miracle of a Big Dream.

Growing up, White and his mother, who struggled with alcoholism, sometimes lacked basic needs such as shelter. Upon joining the school band at age 12, Richard discovered a sense of purpose; taking up the tuba feels like something that belongs to him. While navigating racial and socioeconomic disparities, he eventually becomes the first African American to earn a doctorate in music for tuba performance and lands coveted spots as principal tubist in several orchestras. I'm Possible is a memoir about dreaming big, impossible dreams and making them come true.

The event will be available to be streamed through October 25.
