Eastfield College presents 2017 Faculty Dance Concert
The 2017 Faculty Dance Concert features works by Dance Program Coordinator Danielle Georgiou, faculty members Melissa Sanderson and Kiera Amison, Artists-in-Residence Claire Augustine and Elisa De La Rosa, and guest artist Jordan Fuchs. Performers include company members from Danielle Georgiou Dance Group, Jordan Fuchs Company, Muscle Memory Dance Theatre, and independent dancers from Dallas, Denton, and Houston.
Artist-in-Residence Claire Augustine will present Port City: Station Solo, a solo excerpt of Port City, created at Eastfield College during the Fall 2016 semester. Another Artist-in-Residence, Elisa De La Rosa will perform inmigrante, a solo inspired by Mexican immigrants who travel the arduous journey to the United States of America.
Guest Artist Jordan Fuchs will present an excerpt from his upcoming trio, Torsion, featuring dancers Michelle Beard, Whitney Geldon, and Melissa Sanderson. Torsion is a 20-minute piece that emerges from improvisational partnering scores exploring fascia, the connective tissue of the body, and the pelvis.
