Heroes for Children recognizes Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September by bringing Richardson and its surrounding communities together for a family-friendly event celebrating the hearts of children fighting cancer.

The fundraiser will open with a commemorative balloon release led by co-founders Jenny Dowen and Larissa Linton, followed by the Fun Run and 5K. The Fun Run & 5K are open to participants of all ages. Entertainment will include a DJ and children’s Adventure Zone featuring games, activities, bounce houses and a special area to honor and remember children who have been affected by cancer. The Heart of Gold 5K & Fun Run also promises prizes, awards, giveaways and food.
