ArthouseFW - Late Night celebrates the work of Joe Dante, one of Roger Corman’s most memorable collaborators and one who held tightly to Corman’s out-of-this-world sensibilities. Dante’s films bring fantasy and reality together in stories that are both human and monstrous, funny and terrifying, light and dark.

Joe Dante's breakout film, Piranha, details the horror of mutant man-eating piranhas determined to ruin a beautiful summer by the lake. Produced by Corman and written by John Sayles, the "best of the Jaws rip-offs" according to Steven Spielberg is Dante's hilariously gory contribution to B-movies in a time when the genre was elevating from drive-in fodder to box office blockbuster.
