To celebrate February’s arrival of the musical Once to Bass Performance Hall, Performing Arts Fort Worth and the Modern will host a free screening of the 2007 film that inspired the Tony Award-winning musical.

A vacuum repairman (Glen Hansard) moonlights as a street musician and hopes for his big break. One day a Czech immigrant (Marketa Irglova), who earns a living selling flowers, approaches him with the news that she is also an aspiring singer/songwriter. The pair decide to collaborate, and the songs that they compose reflect the story of their blossoming love.

Tickets are required and seating is limited. Free tickets will be available at the Modern's admission desk beginning Friday, February 6 at 10 am.

The event will include an acoustic set from local singer/songwriter Chris Johnson of Telegraph Canyon prior to the screening. Visitors can enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the musical's opening night at Bass Hall.
