Norman Mailer’s 1960 essay for Esquire magazine on then-Presidential candidate John F. Kennedy forever changed the landscape of journalism. Superman Comes to the Supermarket will present Lawrence Schiller, Mailer’s co-author of Oswald’s Tale: An American Mystery, in conversation with J. Michael Lennon, Mailer’s archivist and biographer.

The two will discuss Mailer’s impact on New Journalism and look at the historic essay, most recently re-published by Taschen in a book full of campaign photos by noted photographers. Taschen editor, Nina Weiner, will moderate the discussion.

This is part of a trio of events taking place at the Sixth Floor museum in May 2015. Tickets are $10 each or $25 for all three.
