Cable TV powerhouse HBO and the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth will present the premiere of The Diplomat, a documentary about Richard Holbrooke, the veteran foreign service officer who brought peace to Bosnia two decades ago.

Holbrooke, as the film warmly explains, was a larger-than-life force of diplomatic nature. He spent 50 years in a foreign service career that began in Vietnam and ended in 2010 when his health betrayed him.

The crowning point of Holbrook's career occurred in 1995 when he negotiated the Dayton Accords that ended conflict in Bosnia. Holbrooke's son, David, a filmmaker and the Festival Director of Telluride Mountainfilm in Colorado, directed the documentary featuring recollections of his father from journalists, friends and politicians.
