Bright pink and red tulips, purple irises, yellow daffodils, white dogwoods, 2,000 varieties of azaleas – all of this and more is what you’ll encounter as you wander through the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden in the springtime. Located on the shores of White Rock Lake, the gardens comprise 66 acres of outdoor sanctuary with exquisite seasonal flowers, colorful trees and ornamental shrubs. The gardens are bursting with color in the spring, but each season brings with it a new visual delight. Listed among the country's top three botanical gardens in Spirit magazine, the Dallas Arboretum conducts groundbreaking horticultural research in the trial gardens and hosts exhibits and events throughout the year.
The summer and fall concerts in the garden are a local favorite, taking place in June, July, September and October. Bring a picnic, spread out on the lawn overlooking the lake and listen to live music as the sun sets.
