Dealey Plaza is best known for its worst day. On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated as his motorcade drove past here. Tourists flock to the plaza, which is manned year-round by conspiracy theorists and would-be tour guides eager to educate onlookers about the tragic events of that November day. Named for George Bannerman Dealey, a former publisher of the Dallas Morning News, the plaza is located on the edge of the West End Historical District, where Elm, Commerce and Main streets converge.
