The Kessler is a gem of a venue in Oak Cliff, resurrected by Edwin Cabaniss and Jeffrey Liles, who set out to change the music scene in Dallas. By all accounts, they’re doing just that, as the Kessler has been praised by local critics and the musicians who grace the stage. From the art deco exterior to the trendy interior, this cool but casual venue, a restored, historic movie theater, is worth the price of admission. The seating configurations and options vary by show but range from standing room to VIP tables. In addition to live music, The Kessler hosts art exhibitions and offers art classes in disciplines ranging from voice to performing arts. Plus there’s a full bar and a small menu with nachos, grilled cheese, jalapeno hummus and the like.
There is free parking adjacent to the building and nearby street parking.
