While the days of real cattle drives through downtown Dallas have passed, Pioneer Plaza, the second most visit tourist destination in Dallas, pays homage to the settlers and steer that once populated the area. We can thank real estate developer Trammell Crow for the idea to build a place filled with iconic Western sculpture. Glen Rose artist Robert Summers created the 49 bronze cattle (and the lasso-wielding cowboy who leads them) that grace the plaza. Located just footsteps from the Dallas Convention Center, Pioneer Plaza is a photo stop for visitors and residents alike.
