Amore Italian Restaurant
Open since 1983, Amore is a long-standing survivor in Dallas' chichi Snider Plaza, serving reliable Italian-American to the Park Cities crowd. The menu offers standards such as lasagna, chicken piccata and linguine with clams, as well as lighter options such as grilled fish of the day, served with a house salad and bread. One reason Amore survives: Its sauces are more refined and less gloppy than the red-sauce Italian places that litter the subburbs. Thin-crust pizza may pale next to Cane Rosso or even Olivella nearby, but the vegetables in its minestrone start out fresh, not canned. Ambience mimics New York’s Little Italy, with a cozy atmosphere, doting service and a red awning outside.
You can get half-size portions, and prices are reduced from 11 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday.
