Aw Shucks is so named because oysters require shucking. Greenville Avenue haunt is the first in a local mini-chain with various "shucks" in the titles. Aw Shucks is proud of its honor system of payment. This is Dallas' only indigenous seafood by way of Louisiana, and nearly all deep-fried: fried catfish, fried shrimp, fried oysters. Plus po’ boys, crab cakes, peel-and-eat shrimp and crawfish, when they’re in season. Atmosphere is casual, friendly and convivial; the patio is where it’s at.
