Cafe Pacific

top100

This neighborhood seafood restaurant just so happens to be in the neighborhood of Highland Park. Therefore, entrees run from $27 to $44 (for the Cafe Pacific sampler with smoked Bay of Fundy salmon, sea bass, and lemon sole), and the atmosphere is white-tablecloth, with doting servers, high-end wines by the glass, and crab cakes with browned edges so precise, they seem drawn with a ruler. First opened in 1980, CP is no longer the only fish place in town, but it's still a reliable spot for classics like pecan-crusted trout and sole Amandine, and there's even an occasional departure such as the lettuce wraps with shrimp, served with a peanut dipping sauce. Walk on the wild side, Highland Park. P.S. T-shirts, shorts, or flip-flops are not allowed.
