Undermain Theatre

Undermain refers to the fact that this theater space is in a basement under Main Street in Deep Ellum. For nearly three decades, it’s consistently been ranked as one of the top theaters in the city and recognized as one of the best small theaters in the country. Local actors perform original plays and carefully selected acclaimed works, and productions have been called daring, experimental and imaginative. Since 2000, Undermain has spread its wings outside Dallas, producing plays in New York.
