A new report puts Highland Park students at the top of the class. Niche.com's 2016 list of the best school districts in America ranks the Dallas-area district No. 6 in the United States.

Niche looked at key factors like strength of academics, quality of teachers, school resources, quality of student life, and student and parent reviews to determine the overall excellence of more than 10,000 districts.

Highland Park Independent School District's overall grade of A-plus included A-plus ratings for academics, health and safety, and teachers. The district received straight A's for resources and facilities, sports and fitness, and extracurriculars and activities. Its lowest grade? A B-minus for student culture and diversity.

Joining Highland Park in the top 10 is Austin's Eanes Independent School District at No. 2. Like Highland Park, Eanes boasts an overall A-plus and received its lowest grade, a B-minus, for student culture and diversity.

Three other North Texas districts rank in the top 100: Carroll (No. 27), Plano (No. 63), and Coppell (No. 77). Tredyffrin-Easttown School District in Pennsylvania is No. 1 in America.
