Burglar helps himself to cash at Dallas BBQ restaurant

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a burglar suspected of robbing a barbecue joint as well as two other restaurants and a convenience store.

The first offense took place on January 19 at approximately 12:25 am, when an unknown black male suspect was caught on surveillance footage breaking into the Reed’s BBQ at 1811 S. Buckner Blvd. He broke a side window, entered and damaged some property while searching for cash. After helping himself to the money, he fled.

Police have now upgraded the suspect to a serial burglar, because investigative efforts have linked him to three other business burglaries that have taken place since January 19:

  • January 21: Tortas Y Tarael Ranchita at 7023 Military Pkwy.
  • January 27: Formosa at 5405 N. Jim Miller Rd.
  • January 27: C Store at  9203 Bruton Rd.

If you have information, contact Southeast investigative detective W. Jones at 214-671-0113.
