Man kidnaps two women at gunpoint in broad daylight at Dallas park

Israel Tovar, 18, has been arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping. According to Dallas police, Tovar kidnapped two women at gunpoint in Oak Cliff's Kiest Park around 2 pm on February 2.

Police say Tovar approached the women while they were parked in the 3000 block of South Hampton Road. Tovar held a gun on the women and forced them to drive to ATMs around town.

The trio eventually ended up in Garland, where one of the women contacted local police. Tovar fled and was taken into custody by DART police after his description was relayed over police radio.

Although Tovar has not yet been charged with sexual assault, an arrest warrant affidavit states that Tovar allegedly raped one of the women, who is two months pregnant. Tovar is being held at Dallas County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
