Driver kills pedestrian in parking garage of Dallas' NorthPark Center

A pedestrian walking in the parking garage at NorthPark Center in Dallas was killed by a motorist who was driving too fast.

On March 11, at approximately 10 pm, two men were walking in the second story of the Nordstrom parking garage in the parking lot at NorthPark.

According to the Dallas Police Department, motorist Christopher Shaw, 28, was traveling at a high rate of speed in the parking garage when he came upon them. He struck the first, then knocked the second over the wall onto street level.

The first victim, 42-year-old Yu Luo, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Shaw hit the wall at a high rate of speed. He and the second victim, a 41-year-old male named Shisuo Wang, were transported to an area hospital with various injuries. Shaw was in critical condition, and remains in the hospital for injuries sustained.

Shisuo Wang also remains in the hospital, but is alert and talking, according to the police.

Shaw will be charged with one count of manslaughter. Other charges may be pending.
