After all the sweat came a sweet reward for riders in a July 31 spin class at Class Studios Cycle + Train. CultureMap, in partnership with Frost Bank, spun into the Uptown Dallas fitness studio for the second in a series of special pop-ups designed to help Dallasites #frostitforward.

While popular instructor Paige Martindell led the intense peloton of about 50 bikers through the high-energy class "Cycle45: Kings & Queens of Hip Hop," a team from CultureMap waited in the wings with arms full of surprises.

Just before the cool-down, Martindell teased the class, promising that their hard work soon would be rewarded. And then, as the music softened and the cyclers started to stretch, they got their special deliveries — canvas bags filled with cool swag, including tiny smartphone-enabled fans courtesy of Uptown Dallas Inc.Outdoor Voices' signature "Doing Things" ball caps and coupons for active apparel; and vouchers for a free class at Class Studios.

Each participant personally was handed a $10 Frost cash card that came with a special request: spend the money on someone else. This announcement brought the biggest cheers, and afterwards, class members were abuzz about their ideas for ways to "pay it forward." One young woman already planned to buy her hardworking intern coffee; another wanted to buy her office treats on Friday; another thought she'd donate to a nonprofit — but how to choose which one?

The fun continued in the studio lobby, where Austin Eastciders provided cold, refreshing, post-workout sips. The photography wizards from Foto Pop made even the sweatiest folks look fabulous in their fun, interactive photo booth.

The pop-up event is part of Frost's new campaign, Opt for Optimism, which inspires others to pay it forward. Following the spin class, the surprised riders took to social media, using the hashtag #frostitforward to document their good deeds.

Because we also want to #frostitforward, CultureMap has created our Dallas Charity Guide as a one-stop destination for area nonprofits and charities. Search for an organization by name or category to learn about the mission and how to give back. As a CultureMap reader, you will uncover inspiring and heartfelt stories about these organizations all year long as part of our Charity Guide special editorial series
