Opt for Optimism
Frost Bank unwraps surprise taco takeover for Dallas trolley commuters
The restored vintage trolleys that glide through Uptown and downtown are a treat for Dallasites looking for a quick, free commute or some fun sightseeing, but riders were surprised with a few extra treats one recent morning in November.
CultureMap was on board with free breakfast tacos, courtesy of Velvet Taco and Frost Bank. From 8-9 am, commuters could chow down on their choice of bacon and egg or chicken and waffles tacos, starting their days off with smiling faces and full bellies. Not only that, but Velvet Taco provided coupons for another free taco (and we all know there's no such thing as too many tacos).
The lucky M-Line Trolley riders also received Frost cash cards as part of the bank's Opt for Optimism campaign. The recipients were instructed to #frostitforward, aka turn around and gift those cash cards to someone else as an act of generosity.
This unexpected breakfast visit was the latest in a series of pop-ups that are helping Dallasites show generosity and spread optimism. It's all part of CultureMap's partnership with Frost Bank and in celebration of our comprehensive CultureMap Charity Guide, which is your one-stop destination for area nonprofits and charities.
CultureMap and Frost Bank will be hosting more of these pop-up events throughout 2018, surprising and delighting folks all over Texas. Want to know where we might show up next? Follow along on Instagram and Twitter for hints about our next stop.
