Because it’s Christmas time in the city (or hadn’t you noticed?), it’s tree-buying time. And while it’s always fun to fight strangers in a converted parking lot for the perfect fir, Uber and Home Depot are teaming up to drop off a drama-free tree at your front door on December 5.
Beginning at 11 am, Uber users in Dallas and nine other cities can order a Fraser fir and tree stand from Home Depot to be delivered right to their front doors. It’s as easy as clicking on the Christmas tree icon labeled “UberTREE” on the app, then sitting back and waiting.
The netted tree, stand and Uber gift are $135, and like all things Uber, no cash is required. Users will be able to track their orders, which are available until 8 pm, via the Uber app. And where there’s normally a picture of your driver, a picture of an Uber ambassador with holiday-themed names like “Frosty” will show up wearing Santa hats.
The “UberTREE” label is also good as a promo code for first-time Uber users to receive $20 off their first ride.
