When serious illness or injury strikes a child, a parent shouldn’t have to worry about anything else but getting that child the care he or she needs.
That’s the premise upon which Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD) was founded. The only organization that provides a home-away-from-home for families whose children are receiving treatment at local hospitals, RMHD exists solely to ease the burden, reduce stress, keep the family intact and enhance these families’ quality of life.
RMHD does that by providing a caring, home-like atmosphere for families to stay. It offers 52 bedrooms with private baths as well as six suites with fully equipped kitchens. The organization also provides daily, home-cooked meals; transportation; laundry facilities; and activities for parents and siblings such as crafts, games, movie nights and seasonal celebrations.
And Ronald McDonald House does all of this at little or no cost to the families, so they can stay focused on what’s most important: healing their children.
