Netflix drone delivery and Sriracha science top links we love right now
Editor's note:There's so much that's beautiful, funny, smart and informative on the Internet. Problem is, there's also a bunch of garbage. Here's the best of the web right now:
1. Netflix announces "drone to home" delivery service. What's great about feuds between technology giants like Amazon and Netflix is that they have the resources to poke fun at each other on a grand scale. "Unlike other companies trying to rush unproven technology to market, we have literally spent days working out most of the bugs," the video says as a drone explodes in a fiery crash.
2. The 18 worst things about Hawaii. As the Beatles once said, it's been a long cold lonely winter. And in times such as these, we can't help but pine after Hawaii. The sun, the sand, the surf — it's all so enviable. Thankfully, Huffington Post Travel reminds us that island living is not all hula skirts and umbrella drinks.
3. How hot sauces perk up your food and your mood. Sriracha already has a special place in our hearts and diets, but scientists have proven our favorite spicy sauces do more than delight our taste buds. They actually trigger chemical responses that make us feel happier. Pass the special sauce, please.
4. AC/DC's "Thunderstuck" played on cellos. There are certain music snobs out there who would have you believe in a hierarchy of harmonies. These cellists debunk any notion of musical superiority by translating hard rock to classical. The elaborate costumes are a nice touch.
5. Inside Amtrak's absolutely awesome plan to give free rides to writers. Despite how Hollywood portrays our fair profession, being a writer is rarely lucrative or glamorous. We work long hours for little pay and have a near-constant need to be inspired — a task that is difficult to accomplish while trapped in a cubicle. Thankfully, Amtrak is stepping up to combat writer's block with a free change of scenery.
