What: Dallas Film Society Honors 2015

Where: Highland Dallas

The 411: During the ninth annual Dallas International Film Festival, the Dallas Film Society and Highland Dallas hotel co-hosted a star-studded awards ceremony. The headlining honoree was Academy Award-winning director John Landis — who was accompanied by his costume designer wife, Deborah — and the recognition coincided with the 35th anniversary of his Blues Brothers. DFS also honored Texas writer, actor and producer L.M. Kit Carson posthumously; his son, Hunter, accepted the award on his behalf. Other award winners included Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, writers and directors of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and The Lego Movie, who received the Texas Avery Animation Award presented by Reel FX. In addition to congratulations and adulation, attendees were treated to a meal from John Tesar's steakhouse, Knife.

Who: Michael Cain, Kane Sedes, Hannah Barlow, Pierce Cravens, Max Landis and John Criss.
