Dallas City Lights 2014 changes date under threat of rain
In 2013, an ice storm interrupted many planned holiday events, and now weather is intervening yet again. Dallas City Lights, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 22, has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 23, due to expected rainy conditions.
The event, which takes place along Main Street with activities happening at both Main Street Garden and Pegasus Plaza, otherwise will go off as planned.
The festival includes such family-friendly activities as an outdoor market, face painting, ornament making, and, of course, the tree lighting and arrival of Santa Claus.
There also will be a variety of performances, including ones by Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico, Dallas Black Dance Academy/Allegro, Dallas Symphony Orchestra: Christmas Pops, Larry g(EE), WaterTower Theatre, cast of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical and the Turtle Creek Chorale.
