DFW Airport makes travel pretty by opening 3 new luxe beauty stores
Next time you’re strolling through Terminal D at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, you may start wondering if you’re in a luxury mall like NorthPark Center — especially when you notice the three new stores that have opened. And we’re not talking about a Hudson News. No, we’re talking about the likes of Jo Malone, MAC Cosmetics, and Aveda.
Beauty junkies everywhere know exactly what we’re talking about, but, in case you’re not familiar, trust us, this is big news. (Now, if a Sephora were to open, that would take things to a whole new level — but we’ll take what we can get.)
“This is just another step in the evolution of Terminal D, our international terminal, which is well on its way to becoming a premier retail and dining destination for our customers,” says DFW Airport executive vice president of revenue management Ken Buchanan in a press release. “With the addition of these globally recognized luxury beauty brands, DFW Airport is enhancing the customer experience and appealing to a global audience.”
The stores will have two locations each, at gates D18 and D25, and they are joining other top-notch shopping and dining options like Coach, Hugo Boss, L’Occitane, Montblanc, TUMI, Sky Canyon by Stephan Pyles, III Forks Prime Steakhouse, and Dylan’s Candy Bar.
All three brands fall under the Estee Lauder umbrella, and each store features a unique customized design, as well as multilingual beauty experts and makeup artists who can provide personal consultations and product guidance.
Aveda is known for combining the principles of modern science with Ayurveda, the ancient healing art of India, to develop performance-driven hair, skin, and body products that are made with pure flower and plant essences. In other words — this brand is about as holistic a beauty line as you will find.
Jo Malone is a British import offering luxury perfumes, candles, and bath and body products. Unexpected scent combinations, such as Lime Basil & Mandarin or Mimosa & Cardamom, are a hallmark of the brand, as are those chic signature cream gift boxes lined with black tissue paper and imprinted with the simple Jo Malone logo.
MAC Cosmetics is a leading makeup brand revered for its extensive collection of products, from lipstick and lip gloss to highly pigmented, long-wearing eye shadows and foundations for all skin types.
