Under the direction of designer Massimiliano Giornetti, the venerable Italian fashion and accessories house Salvatore Ferragamo is making a big splash for fall.

An ad campaign featuring supermodel Kate Moss and Sean O'Pry showcasing the fall 2012 ready-to-wear collections is featured in September fall fashion magazines hitting newsstands any day now. It was shot by Mikael Jansson in Berlin's ornate Russian embassy.

A cool Style Yourself feature allows you to mix and match styles on a digital mannequin that looks like a paper doll.

And, recently, Ferragamo launched a digital trunk show featuring the fall/winter collection. Click on the site to see model Lily Kwong in the full collection. Or use a cool Style Yourself feature that allows you to mix and match styles on a digital mannequin that looks like a paper doll. Choose from multiple images of shoes, handbags, coats, slacks, blouses and dresses to create your own look.

Style.com praised Giornetti's "fine fall collection that married the rigor of military clothing with the romance of chiffon and lace." Referencing Revolutionary Russia and the Ballets Russes, it is on trend with sleek military looks — a belted black leather and sheared astrakhan officer's jacket is a standout — and feminine styles featuring off-the-shoulder silk dresses, peasant tops and lots of lace.

Many of the looks are arriving in Ferragamo boutiques in the Houston Galleria and NorthPark Center in Dallas just in time for the cooler weather that will eventually hit Texas (a couple of months from now).
