Never Skip Breakfast
New Plano diner serves breakfast every hour it's open
Oklahoma-based breakfast chain Jimmy's Egg will crack open a second branch in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this time in Plano, at 8900 Ohio Dr. The first Jimmy's in the area opened in The Colony in 2013; this one is slated for a July opening.
"We are very excited to continue expanding our partnership," said franchisee Ryan Lum in a release.
Jimmy's is open daily, 6 am-2 pm, for full-service breakfast and lunch. Breakfast can be had from open until close. Bacon is from Hormel, sausage is from Jimmy Dean and OJ is from Tropicana. There's a brand-name lineup for you.
Menu options include three-egg omelets, blueberry granola pancakes, breakfast skillet scrambles, chicken-fried steak and lighter fare for the health conscious. Something called Garbage Breakfast consists of hash browns topped with sausage, green peppers, onions and two eggs. The Biscuit Debris is biscuits and gravy with diced ham and sausage and melted cheddar.
An "over light" section features lighter items such as sweet-potato pancakes and an egg-white omelet filled with spinach and mushrooms.
Lunch includes salads, burgers and sandwiches such as smoked turkey melt. As for that chicken-fried steak, Jimmy's brags it's so big that it's served on its own plate.
Jimmy's Egg was founded by Loc Le and opened in Oklahoma City in 1980. It has 44 branches in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas, with plans to open 10 more in 2015.
