A Reason to Drink
Hot happy hour deals for summer drinking in Dallas
The happy hour is a vital part of any work week. How else are you supposed to get over hump day or even Tuesday? Exercise? Psh. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite excuses to drink around town after a day of spreadsheets and conference calls.
Texas Tuesdays at The Bottle Shop on Lowest Greenville means that you can get half-priced drafts and bottles of Texas beers all day. The real happy hour is from 6 to 8 pm, when there are free empanadas from Empanada Armada.
The Foundry sports a perfect patio for summer nights, and there’s no better way to start the weekend than with $3 drafts on Thursday nights from 7 pm to close.
Blue Goose Cantina on Lower Greenville has its happy hour from 2:30 to 6:30, when all queso, beer, well and house margaritas only cost $3. That is not the worst way to spend an afternoon before going to the Foundry.
Knox Street Pub has happy hour all day Tuesday through Thursday with $3 wells, drafts and domestic bottles, plus $1.50 PBR pints. But Saturday sports $12 buckets to put you back in the college mindset.
The Double Wide is a top bar for a reason, and its 5 to 9 pm happy hour boasts $2 wells and domestics. It runs Monday through Friday, but Monday and Tuesday are prime, because happy hour runs all night. Absurd.
Sfuzzi is your fancy McKinney Avenue spot Monday through Friday for half-price pizza and one dollar off all cocktails. Patio action and people watching included.
Adair’s Saloon runs happy hour Sunday through Friday from 2 to 8 pm, with deals like $3 wells, domestic and premium cans going for $2.50 and $3, $2.50 domestic drafts, and $4 premium drafts with pitchers running $8 and $11. It’s all good, but on Wednesday you can get pints for $2 and $3 for domestic and premium, respectively.
