New restaurant at Highland Park Village joins Neapolitan pizza revolution
Highland Park Village has announced the name and cuisine of the new restaurant going into the ill-fated space next to the Village Theatre. Called Five Creeks Tavern, it will spotlight "hand-crafted" Neapolitan pizzas, plus pasta made "in-house" (their quote, not ours). There'll be wines from the cask, beers on tap, frozen Bellinis, and cocktails.
Five Creeks joins a family of restaurants that includes Katy Trail Ice House, Katy Trail Ice House Outpost, Bandito’s Tex-Mex, and KT Burger. Managing owners are Buddy Cramer and Ben Ralston.
The restaurant inherits the two outdoor patios that were left by previous concepts such as Marquee Grill, Village Marquee Texas Grill & Bar, Village Kitchen, and Toko V. This spot has seen a lot of restaurants.
According to the release, the Neapolitan pizza served by Five Creeks will be authentic. It will be cooked to a "crispy perfection" in a Northern Italian 900-degree wood-fire oven. In addition to pizza and pasta, there will be "artisan" panini, cheeses made onsite, "fresh" salads (as opposed to the stale ones), "custom" appetizers (as opposed to the pre-fab ones), and gelato for dessert.
