Popular restaurant dishing brunch every day cracks open first Dallas location
In some of the biggest breakfast news ever, Dallas-Fort Worth will get its own branch of Snooze an A.M. Eatery, a Denver-based chain that's a legend on the breakfast and brunch front.
Snooze will open a location in Addison, at 5100 Belt Line Rd., in the same shopping center as Whole Foods and more notably, Dream Cafe, which fills a similar niche, with wholesome food and a great breakfast and brunch.
Snooze has been colonizing Texas: The chain first entered the state in 2016 with its inaugural branch in Austin, and has since opened more locations in Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, where it's been universally met with lines out the door.
The menu at Snooze ranges from sweet and decadent to savory and healthy. Highlights include pineapple upside down pancakes, chilaquiles Benedict, and a breakfast pot pie. Snooze also encourages custom orders, so guests are invited to get creative with their substitutions and requests.
The extensive menu offers traditional egg dishes (omelets, eggs cooked in any style); six different Benedicts; breakfast sandwiches; several different pancake options, and even a few lighter options like quinoa porridge and spring greens.
You can order a Benedict duo or a flight of three pancakes in different flavors.
CultureMap Houston's food whiz Eric Sandler found Snooze to be a step up in terms of ingredients and preparations from traditional diners and more in line with weekend brunch at fancier restaurants. As an example, he cites the Italian-style Bella! Bella! Benedict, topped with prosciutto and Taleggio cheese, with an arugula salad on the side. Arugula is always a yes.
Other elements that distinguish Snooze from other breakfast chains such as Yolk: It has a full menu of wine, beer, and cocktails; and a friendly, cheerful staff.
Snooze was founded in 2006 by two brothers in Denver, seeking to "evolve the morning dining experience" through culinary innovation, an eclectic and energetic atmosphere, and comfortable and friendly service. In addition to Texas and Colorado, it has locations in California and Arizona.
The Addison location will seat approximately 170 people and come in at just under 4,000 square feet, with an outdoor patio adding another 800 square feet. A spokesperson confirms that the location will open in early 2018.
