Presenting the Dallas Debs
Dallas debutantes do their best Texas Dip at 28th annual DSOL Presentation Ball
After a year of parties and preparation, 38 debutantes took their bows at the 28th annual Dallas Symphony Orchestra League Presentation Ball at the Meyerson Symphony Center.
Chair Dixey Arterburn welcomed parents and grandparents; members of the honor guard; and the Dallas Symphony Assembly, which includes past debs. After a heartfelt welcome, it was time for each deb to have her moment in the spotlight with her official presentation.
A highlight of the evening was watching the girls — including Haley Anderson, Mattie Berry, Fallon Bock, Elizabeth Dorsey and Jordan Jones — perform the famous Texas Dip, which they have rehearsed for months amid the various events and rehearsals that come with Dallas deb honors.
Attendees included many VIPs — such as honorary chairs Gene and Jerry Jones, Charlotte and Shy Anderson, and Karen and Stephen Jones — as this was a deb season packed with the children and grandchildren of the some of the most influential people in Dallas.
“It is so gratifying to see everything coming together, and all the work of the chairs and volunteers has fallen into place so beautifully,” Arterburn said. “I had a deb daughter [Libby Arterburn] this year as well as being deb chair, so it was exciting to be part of the planning, organization and execution of this memorable evening for the debs, the honor guard and their families. It was truly a night they will always cherish.”
The annual presentation ball is the largest fundraiser for the DSOL, raising more than $9 million for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
